Marionettes are an iconic form of puppet and have been popular for centuries recognised globally as enchanting and enduring characterised entertainment.
In this unique course you will work with the UK's micro puppet theatre specialist to focus on making a miniatuised micro marionette which can be performed on its own or can be included into a miniature puppet theatre or 'Teatro Lambe Lambe'.

To learn how to design and build a micro marionette utilising a variety of materials and design techniques.
This is a mixed level course available to experienced puppet makers or to complete beginners. The course can be undertaken at any time of the year to suit your schedule providing that we have availability in ours!
Tuition is available on a one to one basis or for groups of adult learners. The course is suitable for adults over 18 years of age and can be taken in our extensive puppet making workshops in Greenwich, London or in the beautiful Brecon Beacons in Wales.We are also able to come to run a workshop at your location if your prefer not to travel.What you will learn and doYou will learn how to design and build a small scale theatre structure and, depending on your ability and how many days or weeks you opt to take the course, you will work on to finish the show ready to be performed.
The average time to make the basic theatre structure if you are having one to one tuition would be three days. To complete a fully working theatre with a show ready to be perform
usually takes around two weeks (ten days).
How many days your course lasts is up to you, please discuss your objectives when booking.
You can take the course at your own pace, whether you decide to work intensively and try to finish the project over your course is up to you.
What is provided
We will provide all the tools and materials for the making of a basic theatre. Any additional specialist material that you may require for your project is not covered (please discuss your ideas when booking).
We will offer assistance prior to the workshop the make sure you have everything you may need for your project.
The fee includes miniature theatre lights for your theatre complete with battery and battery charge.
We also include a special adapter for you to keep (to fit to two sets of earphones) to enable you to have music for your theatre and two sets of earphones listening from the same source.
Please bring your own mp3 player, mobile phone or some source to play music if you would like music for your show.
Tea, coffee, juice and biscuits are available through the day when taking the course at our location.

Depending on the style of your project you could be working with sculpture, carving and mechanism development.

Days usually run from 10am – 6pm with an hour’s break for lunch.
A 3 day course in London, Greenwich for ONE person with exclusive one to one tuition in ‘Teatro Lambe Lambe’ and materials as described above costs £280.
You will have use of a fantastic well equipped bespoke puppet making workshop and individual tuition and attention through each of your course days.
If there are TWO people the cost for 3 days in London is a TOTAL of £440 for the two of you so make sure you invite a friend to learn together at the cost of only £220 each!
